Does the media bring us real facts? In studying the framing techniques of Fox News and Comedy Central, we have found a significant difference in the amount of truth vs. truthiness about global warming presented to the public.
We have found in our research that by breaking several of the SJP codes of ethics, Fox News frames global warming as a conspiracy theory.
It takes quotes out of context to frame stories.
It avoids presenting both sides of any global warming issue, and refrains from citing statistics.
It allows its news hosts to spew worthless, embarrassing, and false information.
It upholds outlandish statements and ideas in order to frame stories.
These points are illustrated in this project. We have found Fox News to heavily frame its news reports in order to show a very specific agenda to the public, especially within the issue of global warming.
Where we expected a "fair and balanced" view of global warming from Fox, we have found an absurd amount of truthiness.
